Doubles Beachside is a local restaurant that was established in 1983 by Ray Featherhoff. He opened in the original location at 1897 South Patrick Drive as a little sub shop with great subs and fries. The restaurant, (which soon became known for those famous racquet fries,) also earned a place in the hearts of the cities of Indian Harbour and Satellite Beach as a place for families to come and eat and play pool. The addition of the “game room” provided a meeting spot for families young and old to congregate and share some laughs over those stacked hoagies, which are still as popular today as they were back then. In 2006, after 23 years of building the menu to include a greater selection of hot food sandwiches and grilled items, we moved across the street to 1896 South Patrick Drive.

At this location came the addition of banquet facilities, bars and an ever growing menu which included wings and even more beer selections. The sports teams soon found us and we became the premier host site for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Florida State Seminoles. These teams plus all the local sports teams that would pop in for lunches and dinners after their games or seasons were completed, began to shape this little hoagie shop into the community icon it is today. Doubles has always been a place to meet and greet, to sip and sit, and most of all to provide a safe, fun environment for many residents to make memories by enjoying great food with friends. This new chapter for Doubles plans to grow this vision by providing the same great quality of food and service, with some added options that the other locations have not offered. The vision for sustainability in the city has inspired Doubles to be the first “Green Building” restaurant, using green building materials as well as carrying those practices into the business. We will be using recyclable materials for all aspects of preparation and distribution. Everything from low flow fixtures to solar power, we are looking to demonstrate we care about social and environmental concerns. We want to reduce energy consumption, water usage and food waste.

Another feature Doubles is excited to incorporate into this new model of the restaurant is a drive through where you can grab those tasty fries without getting out of your car when you are in a hurry. We are developing a mobile friendly website with an app so customers can order food through their device and pick it up when ready inside our “take out” area. We will have a market with a lot of our menu items prepackaged so you can easily make that chicken salad sandwich for yourself when you want it at home. We have designed an outdoor seating area with a bar where we will carry craft beers and wine, and possibly one of the most exciting new elements to the space will be a splash pad for parents and kids to enjoy some relief from our warm summer temperatures.

We hope that with this updated version of the old classic, you will feel welcomed and excited for Doubles to continue to serve this wonderful community as it has for the last 35 years.
