The story of El Buzo started about 30 years ago in Peru when Chef Bruno was deep fish diving in the beaches of Ancon near the outskirts of Lima, with his friend Lucho Larco.
They dived at night to spear many kinds of fishes. It was the love for the ocean and cooking, plus discovery the variety of fishes they caught that lead them to open a seafood restaurant in Surco, Lima-Perú in 1980. Bruno participated in many diving championships until he achieved first place at the South American championship with Rafael Herrera and Peter Hansnkeente, and subsequently the National Championship.
After 23 years, “El Buzo” was sold to Alvaro Martinez. Chef Bruno moved to Orlando and opened El Buzo Restaurant in Casselberry,FL and cooked there for 10 years. It is a great pleasure for Bruno to be able to bring exquisite Peruvian dishes to the Central Florida area. El Buzo provides a family friendly atmosphere, affordable dishes, and uses the best ingredients from local vendors.
In January 2018, Chef Bruno opened EL BUZO PERUVIAN CUISINE in Cocoa Beach. He now calls this area home, visiting the ocean at daybreak. He cooks at the Cocoa Beach restaurant and we invite you to come and try his signature dishes.
