From Scratch Restaurant was built on Owner, David Williams’, vision which included, “A Kitchen producing the best soul food and seafood around.” David came from humble beginnings where he and his brothers, Tarrence Williams and Michael Blackwell, learned to cook growing up, the same food we serve today. He burgeoned into the business world armed with this vision, prayer and a lot of hard work from family and friends, and opened From Scratch Restaurants on September 16, 2012.
David and his wife, Zechra Williams, started this restaurant together with help from brothers and lifelong friend Miyoshi Johnson. David worked and saved for years so that he could accomplish his goal of becoming a business owner. Together, they created the menu that our customers enjoy today. Tarrence has become the manager and the face of From Scratch, as he has created quite a rapport with our customers.
It is named From Scratch for the food, desserts and drinks that are all made, of course, from scratch. We are famous for our Chicken & Waffles and Shrimp & Grits. We also offer a variety of soul food and seafood dishes, including Chitterlings, Oxtails, Smothered Pork Chops, Meatloaf, Fish, Shrimp and Turkey Wings, just to name a few. Not to mention, the side dishes are cooked low and to perfection. Let’s not forget the desserts that people come from miles around to sample.
